Finally ! Watch Folders is the one thing I’ve been waiting for in a Music Player on OS X. The one feature I’ve been missing in OS X other than a real Visio replacement (are you listening Microsoft?) The other day, I realized it was February, and if there was one thing I was looking forward to in February, it was the new release of SongBird. So, I downloaded it, fired it up, and mounted my mp3 share on the file server, only to find that when I added the Samba mounted directory to the watch folders, nothing happened. After a few attempts, I tried local music, which seemed to function properly.
So I posted a bugzilla message. And today, I decided to see if I could see some errors in the error console, but to my surprize when I added the music, it started working…. The only thing that changed was a reboot, and me mounting my music before firing up SongBird. Strange..
Anyway, I hope it was the reboot that fixed it. I love having my music back ! And my new Sennheiser headphones rock !
